Mumbai, May 20: Mumbai Central after encountering initial resistance came into their own in the last two quarters to record a comfortable 65-48 victory (half-time – 26-23) against Nashik in a boy’s match of the 32nd Maharashtra State Inter-District Youth (boys & girls) Basketball Championship, organised by the Maharashtra State Basketball Association (MSBA) and played at the Indian Gymkhana ground and Police Gymkhana ground, on Wednesday.

The Mumbai Central hoopsters combined well with Roshan Dhum and Akshay More scoring 20 and 12 points respectively, which helped them to secure a win. For the Nashik side, the top performers were Trishul Kosambi, who scored 18 points and Gaurav Rasangali and  Shushant Naik, both contributing 10 points each.

However, Mumbai North had a bad day going down rather tamely to Pune 47-67 after trailing 33-34 at the end of the first half. Pratik Ubhe (22), Ali Raja (14) and Pinak Kaulgud (11) were the key players for the Pune side. For Mumbai North the best efforts came from Nilesh Yadav who scored 22.
